‘Re-discovering Me after ADHD Diagnosis‘
Cheyanne Carter, an experienced professional in the educational sector for 11 years, has held various roles in Early Childhood and Primary Education. She has been a member of CSIRO’s STEM Professionals in Schools Program, enhancing STEM-based practices in learning and developed digital learning strategies to keep children in Early Learning engaged through lockdown, benefiting over 150 centres across Australia and continues to be a vital resource today.
Chey’s diagnosis in 2021 marked a pivotal moment, leading to an epiphany that her brain’s uniqueness could unlock her true potential. This insight drove Chey to embrace her newfound identity and dive deeper into the world of neuroscience, psychology and explore educational theorists with a new lens.
In her presentation, Cheyanne will delve into the intricacies of adult ADHD diagnosis and its profound impact on adult life, both pre and post-diagnosis. She will share her experiences, challenges, and the positives of being a late-diagnosed adult, offering insights and strategies to navigate this journey.
