Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and Oppositional Behaviour
Christina Keeble is the founder of Neurodivergent Mum. She is also a Special Education Teacher, Mum to two Children with ADHD and are on the Autism Spectrum and Christina herself has Diagnosed ADHD and is on the spectrum.
Christina has worked in the special education field since 2003 and has a passion for teaching, research and raising awareness.
Christina has a Masters in Special Education, a Diploma in Education Primary, and a BA with Honours in Psychology. And has been honoured to have worked with a variety of children with additional needs and their families (from 0-17 years old) across a range of settings including the classroom, playgroups, and social services. She has a strong interest in Autism, ADHD and Demand Avoidance and has worked within the field for many years.
As well as her work with Neurodivergent Mum and as a Special Education Teacher, Christina delivers workshops to parents, teachers and professionals throughout Victoria and has presented at numerous Conferences and Events across Australia.
In this presentation Christina will be talking about what Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) is as well as the difference between demand avoidance and oppositional behaviour. And she will give many strategies to assist parents, carers and educators.
