Executive Function and ADHD: Making Sense of How Your Brain Works

 

Dr Laura Connolly is a Clinical Neuropsychologist who is experienced in working with neurodiverse individuals. Laura regularly conducts neuropsychological assessments and therapy with ADHDers, and has a special interest in the facilitation of therapeutic groups. She enjoys helping people understand their brain and functioning and assisting others to build new skills. She has a passion for working collaboratively with clients and taking a strengths-based approach to helping individuals reach their goals.

She has had clinical experience in a range of settings, including private practice, and inpatient and outpatient public health services, and has worked with individuals across the lifespan. In a hospital setting, Laura works with people with various forms of acquired brain injury, dementia, and neurological conditions. She has published research in peer reviewed journals regarding the role of light therapy in improving sleep and fatigue. She is also a certified meditation teacher with the Meditation Association of Australia.

 

Laura will be presenting on understanding the ADHD brain from a neuropsychological perspective, and practical strategies for improving executive functioning, including the benefits of group therapy in skill building.
