Dr Madelyn Derrick
Maddi is a Clinical Psychologist, and Psychology Board-approved supervisor, experienced in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health concerns. She has extensive knowledge and expertise when it comes to helping individuals and families to overcome the challenges that ADHD can create, and to make the most of the opportunities that are waiting to be uncovered.
Maddi is a very active member of the Australian ADHD Professionals Association, having presented for the Association’s webinar series and in a number of the annual conferences, as well as being on the organising committee for the 2022 conference. Most notably, she was a member of the development group for the Australian Evidence-Based Clinical Guidelines for ADHD (approved by the National Health and Medical Research Council and released in 2022). Maddi is also an active member of the Australian Psychological Society, providing training to other psychologists around the assessment and treatment of ADHD.
Maddi has lived experience of ADHD herself and advocates strongly for the rights and wellbeing of all in the ADHD community. In 2018 she co-founded ‘Parents for ADHD Advocacy Australia’ – a national community group working towards improving outcomes for children with ADHD. She continues to contribute to national advocacy efforts through stakeholder consultation, involvement in research initiatives and via her regular contributions to media.
