‘The WA-parents’ guide to helping your ADHDer thrive’

Pia Hazelwood is the Founder of Perth Kids Hub, Perth wife, ADHD-er and Mum of two gorgeous curlyhaired, neurodivergent, and bendy kiddos.  A corporate community investment and communications professional in another lifetime.

She & her husband’s lives changed when their first child was born with a heart defect. They have since seen every kind of paediatric professional you could think of.

As a result, she became a walking rolodex.  Friends would ask her: what do I do, where do I go, who do I see?  And then, how do you know ALL of this?

Well, from their family’s experiences. And a beautiful ADHD-brain that saw how everything connected – or should connect.

She could see so many families struggling with waitlists and siloed systems.

They were knee deep in school can’t and she was about to dropout of retraining as an occupational therapist to support their children.

It gave her an idea – what if she could help families with the skills she had from 20 years working in the corporate world?

It started small in 2021 with a list of Perth paediatricians, psychiatrists and therapists who were taking referrals.

Since then, Perth Kids Hub has grown into a website that connects families with hundreds of local child development and learning experts who can help your children thrive.

Trying to find support for your child can be a complicated and confusing experience.  Families face long wait times and disjointed support across health, education and social services.

If you have a child that is struggling, it impacts everything.  You’re trying your best to support them while also trying to keep your family, employment, friendships, relationships, and health and finances functioning.  It’s no surprise they say you’re only as happy as your unhappiest child.

What if you had a guide who could help you see a pathway through the forest?

Pia is going to help you to create a clear path for connecting to services and funding that will best support your child and your family.

She will share what she has learnt as both a parent and a family navigator, including:

pathways to assessment and support

what you can and should ask for

services and funding you may not know even exist

how needs can change across ages and stages

how to ask for support at school

how to get help if you’ve hit a roadblock

alternative education options in WA.

Let’s help move you from fight, flight or survival mode to having a clear action plan for the next 12 months that will support your family to thrive.
