Rebecca Challoner
Anger and Emotional Dysregulation in ADHD
As well as being the CEO and Founder of My Spirited Child and the National PEKE Centre, Rebecca Challoner is also a Writer, Presenter and trainer on neurodiversity, childhood mental health and behavioural challenges. Most importantly Rebecca is Mum to two boys who both have ADHD, one of which also has an Intellectual Disability. Rebecca herself also has diagnosed ADHD, as does her husband.
Rebecca is a member of the Reference Council for the Turner Institute of Brain and Mental Health at Monash University and has written hundreds of articles, eBooks, short books and guides and is in the process of writing her full length book on Understanding ADHD.
Rebecca has provided support to parents, educators, carers and clinicians all over the world and has featured in countless magazines, newspapers, podcasts and radio shows as well as presenting a full length DVD documentary and travelling to America to appear in a US Docuseries.
Rebecca has worked alongside many incredible organisations, including consulting to Special Olympics Australia. In 2020 Rebecca was delighted to be announced as an Ausmumpreneur Gold award winner.
Rebecca has presented at many conferences and events around the world including; the national ADHD Conferences, The National Education Summit, The US ADHD What Now Conference, Mummycon, Global Potty Talk Conference and many more both nationally and internationally. Rebecca also trains teachers, clincians and other professionals in schools and organisations.
Rebecca has numerous qualifications including Sociology and Psychology as well as a Law Degree with Honours. Rebecca has also attended many courses and trainings on neurodivergent conditions as well as other emotional or psychological conditions.
In this talk Rebecca will discuss the many challenges that are faced by children or adults who struggle with Anger and Emotional Dysregulation. As well as how that impacts families. Rebecca will look at what causes these challenges and what it feels like for the individual themselves. She will also provide the strategies to assist the person and how to get through it as a family.
