About the Rebecca Challoner presents: Childhood mental health – online seminar series

In this 4 part online series, Rebecca Challoner will discuss different elements of childhood mental health and give you strategies to assist. Rebecca will talk about children of different ages, with topics such as; school anxiety and refusal, aggressive behaviours and responses, treatment and support options, the brain and physiological responses, strategies for the home, strategies for educators, and much more.

  1. Self Esteem and Confidence – Rebecca will discuss: The difference between Self esteem and confidence, how to recognise when a child is struggling with self esteem or low confidence, building trust and resilience, strategies to build self-esteem and confidence, the things we do that unknowingly lower self esteem, strategies for the home, strategies for the classroom. This has now past but anyone purchasing the full series will receive the recording to this part.
  2. Anxiety and Capacity to meet demands – Rebecca will discuss: How to recognise anxiety, short and long term strategies for the home and for the classroom, school anxiety and school refusal, the effects of anxiety on the child, changes in behaviour, demand avoidance, what is demand avoidance, why does it occur, what’s happening in the brain, therapies and treatment options.
  3. Dysregulation and associated behaviours – Rebecca will discuss: the physiological responses, what causes a child to become dysregulated, how to respond when a child become dysregulated, anger and aggressive behaviours, strategies for the home and the classroom, therapies and treatment options.
  4. Trauma and the impact on mental health – Rebecca will discuss: the impact of trauma on the brain, effect of trauma on behaviour, strategies to assist, expectations when finding services, therapeutic options, PTSD and CPTSD

Rebecca has worked  on numerous  seminars and events, both in person and online and has a wealth of knowledge that makes a huge difference to the lives of children and families.

The topic of mental health,  is not unknown to Rebecca, as she parents a teen with ADHD and an Intellectual Disability, and a pre-teen with ADHD.  

This Seminar will endeavour to provide much needed information, perspective and support, to those considering the way forward for childhood mental health. 

 About Rebecca Challoner 

 

As well as being the CEO and Founder of My Spirited Child and the National PEKE Centre, Rebecca Challoner is also a Writer, Presenter and Trainer on diverse needs, learning difficulties and behaviour. Most importantly Rebecca is Mum to two boys who have ADHD one of which also has Cognitive Challenges. Rebecca herself also has diagnosed ADHD as does her Husband.

Rebecca is currently a member of the Reference Council for the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health at Monash University and has written hundreds of articles, two eBooks, numerous short books and guides as well as being in the process of writing a full length book on Understanding ADHD. Rebecca has provided support to parents and educators all over the world. And has featured in countless magazines, newspapers and radio shows as well as presenting a full length DVD Documentary. Rebecca has also worked alongside many incredible organisations, including consulting to Special Olympics Australia. In 2020 Rebecca was delighted to be announced as an AusMumpreneur Gold Award Winner.

Rebecca has presented at many conferences and events including; The Victorian and Queensland ADHD Conferences, the National Education Summit, The Global Potty Talk Summit, ADHD what now global summit, MummyCon and countless other Seminars and Conferences both nationally and internationally. Rebecca also trains teachers and professionals in schools and organisations.

Over the years Rebecca has done a vast amount of work with neurodivergent children and their families and carers. Working with people around the globe to help improve the lives and futures of neurodivergent people.

Rebecca has numerous qualifications including Diplomas in Sociology and Psychology. As well as a Law degree with Honours. Rebecca has also attended many courses and trainings over her decades within the industry on neurodivergent conditions and Mental Health.

 

 

Each part of this online seminar series will begin at 6pm AEDT. The event is available to anyone regardless of location, and the recording will be available to all ticket holders at the conclusion of the series. Simply check the start time for your location as the time is given Australian Eastern Daylight Time.

The Seminar will run from 6pm until 9pm AEDT and will include a break as well as a Q&A session.
