Dr Siobhan Lamb
‘Executive Functioning and Emotional Regulation challenges’
Dr Lamb has worn many hats during her life. Neurodivergent herself, with a neurodiverse family, she spent twenty years as a teacher in STEM and Diverse Learning and is now principal of Embrace Difference, a business supporting neurodivergent children in the education system, including provision of professional development in educational settings and advocacy services. Dr Lamb is also the first Head of Neurodiversity in a mainstream school in Australia.
Dr Lamb will share her experience on growing up and teaching ADHDers in a neurotypical world. The presentation will focus on the main two challenges of ADHD – executive functioning and emotional regulation – and how they interact and overlap. You will gain insight into how to support the young ADHDers in your care through the use of explicit executive functioning coaching both in the home and at school. And in turn, understand the relationship between executive dysfunction, anxiety and conflict and how you can practically build resilience and empower these young people.
