ADHD and Romantic Relationships

Vikki is the Director and Principal Psychologist at Ringwood Psychology in Victoria. She is a nationally accredited Psychologist and an active member of AAPi and The Society of Australian Sexologists (SAS).

Vikki loves her work and feels honoured being trusted to investigate with people the most challenging aspects of their lives. She loves emotionally connecting with people and working to piece together patterns, origins and impacts of thoughts and behaviours. She has a passionate and insightful style and has been known to ‘tell it like it is’. Vikki is genuinely excited to see clients gain insight and move toward personal growth and positive change.

After two decades of a career focused on trauma, abuse impact and pornography/sex addiction, life circumstances led Vikki to her current passion and strong research focus in ADHD. Vikki is particularly interested in the role of societal structures and language on limiting and suppressing ADHDers.

“I believe that promoting knowledge in order for society to embrace the reality of Neurodiversity has the potential for creating a kinder, more tolerant, healthy, advanced, and productive society.”

Illuminating the presence of Neurodiversity in couples has been a significant – and frequent! – aspect of relationship counselling. Vikki’s talk will discuss the common characteristics of unacknowledged NT/ND relationships and the process of assisting couples to better understand the reasons for communication breakdowns and conflict, and the causes for feeling emotionally and intimately distant from partners.
